Wholesale buyer's guide

How to source bulk lime juice.

A practical guide for bars, restaurant groups, wholesalers and beverage manufacturers evaluating Mediterranean cold-pressed lime juice — specs, pack formats, cold chain and incoterms.

Why cold-pressed Mediterranean lime juice

Spanish-grown limes pressed with the peel keep the aromatic oils that give a gimlet or ceviche its lift. Cold-press extraction avoids the cooked, flat note of thermally treated juice, and a short field-to-press window protects colour and aroma. For cocktail programmes and clean-label beverages, that means fewer ingredients on the label and a more consistent pour.

Specs that matter for bar and beverage buyers

Ask for total acidity (typically 5.5–7.0% as citric), Brix (7–9°), pH (around 2.0–2.4) and pulp content. NFC (not-from-concentrate) is the benchmark for premium bars and restaurants; concentrate suits industrial dilution lines. Request a COA per lot covering microbiology, pesticide residues against EU MRL, and heavy metals.

Certifications buyers expect

IFS Food, BRCGS, HACCP and EU Organic are the usual passports for retail and foodservice tenders. Kosher and Halal are frequently requested for export. Nordic and DACH buyers increasingly ask for sustainability documentation. Insist on lot-level certificates rather than brand-wide letters.

Pack formats and MOQ

Bars and foodservice run on 1 L PET and 5 L bag-in-box for speed behind the counter. Retail sits at 250 ml, 500 ml and 750 ml glass. Beverage and sauce manufacturers work with 200 L aseptic drums or 1,000 L IBCs. Our pallet MOQs start at 5–10 pallets and scale to full 20 ft or 40 ft container loads.

Cold chain, logistics and incoterms

NFC lime juice ships refrigerated at 0–4 °C; aseptic packs travel ambient with a longer shelf life. For EU buyers, DAP or DDP from our Sevilla and Valencia hubs is fastest. Intercontinental orders usually move FOB or CIF via Valencia, Rotterdam or Hamburg. A 20 ft reefer container fits roughly 20 pallets of bag-in-box.

Arrival QC and storage

Check seal integrity, reefer temperature loggers and lot codes on delivery. A quick sensory check — clean green-citrus aroma, no bitterness or dullness — flags oxidation or a broken cold chain. Keep a retained sample of every lot for traceability. A serious supplier replaces any lot that fails your arrival QC without argument.
